DVD Archive debuts at AAMLO!
Susheel's long-awaited research archive will be inaugurated at the
African-American Museum & Library at Oakland (AAMLO). It is already
housed for viewing there (659 14th Street, Civic Center). This copyrighted
work, in the making for 17 months at a cost of $45,000, is "the
tip of the iceberg of my collection," said Bibbs, but "will
help resolve some key issues surrounding Pleasant." The three-DVD
set, funded by the National Park Service, AAMLO, and private donations,
presents the dramatic chautauqua, interviews with preeminent scholars
on Pleasant's importance and context, documents, & information
on key issues that have distorted Pleasant's image for over 100 years.
