Susheel presents at NAMN Convention in Detroit
Susheel will present her collegiate level master class: The Art of the Spiritual -- unlocking the full spectrum of the spiritual for performance at the 85th National Association of Negro Musicians, Inc. Susheel lectures at Spirituals Education Forum
Susheel will present her informative lecture entitled: Exploring the African influence, the Slaves' Life Stories, the Language Styles in Negro Spirituals at the Spirituals Education Forum. Her presentation will occur on August 22, from 3:30-5:30 PM, at the West Oakland Senior Center, 1724 Adeline Street, Oakland, CA.

April 24, 1 PM. The Bibbs Meet Mary Pleasant DVD Archive debuts at AAMLO!
Susheel's long-awaited research archive will be inaugurated at the African-American Museum & Library at Oakland (AAMLO). It is already housed for viewing there (659 14th Street, Civic Center). This copyrighted work, in the making for 17 months at a cost of $45,000, is "the tip of the iceberg of my collection," said Bibbs, but "will help resolve some key issues surrounding Pleasant." The three-DVD set, funded by the National Park Service, AAMLO, and private donations, presents the dramatic chautauqua, interviews with preeminent scholars on Pleasant's importance and context, documents, & information on key issues that have distorted Pleasant's image for over 100 years.
